No ordinary district
Out and about
Until just a few years ago, the area now occupied by the Bahnstadt district was largely derelict land occupied by unused railway tracks. Today it is a place of vibrancy and laughter, work and relaxation. Distances within Bahnstadt are short, whether for everyday shopping, an hour or two of adventure at one of the themed playgrounds, or an evening of live music. In the truest sense of the term, Bahnstadt has grown from nothing to become the lively quarter it is today, typical for Heidelberg in its popularity with residents and visitors alike, and with much to offer. So Bahnstadt is by no means an ordinary district – although perhaps the best way to find that out is at first hand by following the Bahnstadt trail.
